The popular zirconia beads and zirconium silicate beads in the market are basically two kinds of production processes: the electric melting method and the sintering method. Beads are molded in hot air, cold air, or electrolyte. The thermal expansion coefficient of zirconia is 10.5×10-6/°C, which is close to the thermal expansion coefficient of metal, and it fits well with metal, but the dimensional stability changes greatly with temperature, and the failure mode of rolling fatigue contact is destructive fragmentation. It is not as stable as silicon nitride material on some critical occasions.
